(The EPHL to drop the puck on November 1st with openers at Danbury and Jersey)
The new Eastern Professional Hockey League today announced the revised schedule for its inaugural season of games. The schedule features four teams playing a total of 100 league games. The Brooklyn Aces, Danbury Mad Hatters, Jersey Rockhoppers, and the Hudson Valley Bears will each play 50 regular season games during the 2008-09 season.
The regular season begins on Saturday, November 1st when the Hudson Valley Bears visit the Danbury Mad Hatters and the Brooklyn Aces travel to the Jersey Rockhoppers. The season concludes on Sunday, March 22nd. The other home openers are Saturday, November 8th when Brooklyn hosts Jersey and Saturday, November 15th when Hudson Valley plays Jersey in Newburgh, New York at the Ice Time Sports Complex.
The Eastern Professional Hockey League’s newest team, the Hudson Valley Bears, will play a split home schedule as a regional team. The Bears will play home games at both the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York.
“We thank everyone, especially our fans and sponsors, for their patience as we worked through revising the game schedule,” said EPHL Commissioner Jim Riggs. “We also want to thank the management of the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie for all of their efforts in helping us put the Hudson Valley Bears on the map for this season. For the fans of the Brooklyn Aces, Danbury Mad Hatters, and Jersey Rockhoppers, the good news is that none of their original home dates that were announced at the end of July have changed, only some of the opponents.”
